BAtoMA vol.07 BAtoMA TRADESHOW / BAtoMA information
In October 2014, BAtoMA hosted, for the very first time, two concurrent exhibitions at Laforet Museum HARAJUKU and OMOTESANDO HILLS Space O. "BAtoMA TRADESHOW" is a common exhibition targetting buyers and press who are in the professional level searching for new trends in design, arts and products. "BAtoMA information" is an event targeting all interior lovers seeking information. BAtoMA showcased "up-to-date" ideas on interior and lifestyle at these two different exhibitions.
The word “Color” has many implies meanings. Not only does it express literal colors such as red, blue and green,
but also ideas we create that play important roles in our lives. In this exhibition, under the theme of “Color”, we approached “Color” from different aspects and suggested how to add color into our life styles. We introduced creators who suggest new ideas and explore color trends. By just adding a green plant, painting a wall, or decorating an artist’s piece changes the impression of a space different from what is usually there.

"welcome 'Mac' figures" by JUNICHI MATSUZAKI
Junichi Matsuzaki, a home electrical appliances collector who cannot help loving "apple macintosh", exhibited his macintosh archive collection for the first time to the public! His hidden treasures normally reserved only for private use were specially displayed at BAtoMA TRADESHOW. It was an interactive installation displaying his historical “mac” collection including hardware, software and goods expressing the unique aspect of the collector. Like Totem poles created by native American Indians as “welcome figure”, various “welcome mac figures” created from vintage macs welcome exhibition visitors, expressing stories which are still alive in the current version of the mac.

■ LIFESTYLE PRESENTATION at BAtoMA information
TOBIRA was a space where the director of BAtoMA presents lifestyle. Mixing designer furniture, second hand furniture and ethnic merchandise seems a bit confused but fun nonetheless. Living in a space surrounded by our favorite things is important for our life. When you open a door there are things just you like in the space. Just imagining a space like this makes us very excited. In this exhibition, we presented the space mixed with new merchandise and historical furniture in a collaboration with initial ATELIER handling European industrial furniture.
